Manufacturer Spotlight: Dynameco Fire Extinguishers

dynameco fire extinguishers
Dynameco fire extinguishers use advanced technology to suppress fire.

Dynameco manufacture a range of standalone high-volume aerosol fire extinguishing generators. These units come in a variety of sizes and activation options.

The purpose of this type of fire extinguisher is to flood a room with an extinguishing agent and effectively put out fire. The size of Dynameco extinguisher required depends on the volume of the room or space to be protected.

Suggested rooms and spaces where Dynameco fire extinguishers can be installed include electrical control rooms, vehicles (including lorries, ships and aircraft) and within large machines, storage facilities and power generators.

There are 3 sizes of fire extinguishing generators available:

  • Dynameco 2000 – 20m3 room volume protection. Available in thermally activated and electrical ignition.
  • Dynameco 300 – 3m3 room volume protection. Available in thermally activated and electrical ignition.
  • Dynameco 200 – 2m3 room volume protection. Available in thermally activated and electrical ignition.

As stated, these fire extinguishers are activated in one of two ways: either thermally or through electrical ignition. You may have heard of this type of fire extinguishing set-up by another name – they are often called standalone fire suppression systems and automatic fire suppression systems.

Thermally activated Dynameco extinguishers use an internal thermometer to monitor the surrounding temperature. If this temperature exceeds a pre-set limit the fire extinguisher will discharge its contents. Each fire extinguisher size is available in the following upper temperature ranges – 57°C, 68°C, 79°C or 93°C.

Electrical ignition fire extinguishers need an aerosol extinguisher control unit to which a manual call point and an automatic trigger such as a flame detector can be connected. Each control unit is capable of activating up to 3 Dynameco fire extinguishers in quick succession.

The aerosol extinguishing agent is environmentally-friendly, approved for fire protection classes B and C, and each fire extinguisher has a typical service life of 5 years. This type of fire suppression system is fast to install, can be easily relocated if required and can be expanded with minimal effort.
