Infinity ID2 2-8 Zone Fire Alarm Panel

Zeta Alarm Systems is proud to introduce the most advanced 2 wire system on the market. We can now provide a system that gives all of the benefits associated with a ‘2 Wire’ installation (less cable, quicker installation, cost savings on labour/product) and has the facility to ‘I.D.’ the devices.

The Infinity ID2 can be used for new installations, as a retro-fit for any conventional system or as a replacement for existing 2 wire systems when the extra features are deemed to be desirable/necessary. This is possible because the Infinity ID2 devices sit on radial circuits, thus making it easy to ‘upgrade’ a system with the facility to I.D. devices without the need to rewire.

    Features

    • One man walk test facility
    • Ability to isolate zones/sounder circuits
    • High visibility blue LCD screen as standard
    • Deeper version panel available if larger batteries required
    • Full range of zone powered devices available
    • Auto configuration for easy set up
    • Safer than a traditional 2 wire/conventional system as it tells you exactly where the event is - no time wasted searching a whole zone
    • System already wired as a loop? No problem! Just select ‘Loop Mode’ in the panel

    Smartphone App

The Infinity ID2 iPhone or Android app allows users to easily calculate the dip switch settings by simply specifying the zone, device number and device type. The corresponding switch settings are then graphically displayed so they can easily be copied over to the device.

    Video Transcript

"Hi. Welcome back to Discount Fire Supplies, where today we're going to have a quick run-through on the Infinity ID2 application created by Zeta to aid you in 'ID-ing' your devices whilst using their Infinity ID2 2-wire system.

If you go onto the App Store, click the search bar and enter 'Infinity ID2'. This will then bring up the application for you to download. If you download the application and then open it . . . and for the example of this demonstration, we will be using it on an Apple format, but it also is available in the Android; it will then open the home screen, where you can select zone number and a device number, which will give you the dill switch setting for that particular device. You will then have to select Device Type, as the intelligence as explained in the previous video, is in the base itself. You need to predetermine which device is on that particular address.

Once you've done this, you can then set your dill switch settings on the device, which will then register with the panel. You can move through your devices until you've completed ID-ing all of your system. It's as easy as that.

Thank you very much for listening. Once again, these products are all available on www.DiscountFireSupplies.co.uk. Thank you. We'll see you again."

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can the ID2 have a repeater connected and if so how would you cable between them?

The Infinity ID2 can have upto 8 active repeaters.

The repeaters are powered from the ID2 panel, so is connected via 4 cores: 2 x power and 2 x data. The first 2 repeaters can be powered from the panel. Subsequent repeaters would need an external power supply.

Each repeater can be selectively configured to determine which commands it will send to the network. EG to allow some repeaters to reset the system, and others to not reset the system. Each Repeater can also be configured to run in a different language (Although any device labels entered by the installer will just be in the language entered) The repeater shows Alarms and faults from the fire panel. It does not show disablements or test mode events. The repeater can be configured to start panel sounders, stop panel sounders, Silence panel Buzzers and reset the panel. The repeater can not interrogate panel configuration or device status. The repeater can not select disablements or test mode.

Please see diagram showing the connection of a repeater to the main panel.

Is it possible to link two ID2 panels together and if so how would you do it?

Yes it is possible to link two ID2 panels together. There are no inputs on-board the fire panel, so each panel will need to have a ZAIO-MI (I/O Unit) connected to the loop or zone radial depending on how you have wired the system and then given an address of a spare ID.

You will need to run two x 2 core and earth fire cables between the ZAIO-MI units. Please see diagram below for the connections between them.

Once the the I/O units have been fitted and connect between each other you will need to perform a zone configure on each panel so that the units are now part of the system, after this is done you can set each I/O as panel link. By setting them as panel link, they will now operate as non latching contacts.

    Please see below for how to setup a panel link operation on an I/O unit;

    • Access Engineer menu 1.
    • Press 3 for ID Devices.
    • Scroll to the I/O being used as Panel Link.
    • Press number 8 until LINK is displayed next to I/O at the top of the screen.
    • Press cancel until you return to the main screen.
    • Repeat this process for the I/O on the other panel.

My system requires a beam smoke detector, am I able to use one with the ID2?

Yes the ID2 is compatible with most beam detectors however the Zeta Beam Xtra can be installed directly only an ID2 zone or loop without needing a separate power supply.

To be able to incorporate it into the ID2 system you will need to fit an SMM/B module into the beam. This module allows the Zeta Beam - auto aligning beam detector to be connected to a Zeta addressable loop (Max 16 per loop). Like the other devices on the loop, the module will require an ID address, once configured onto the system you will then be able to give this a reference for the beam.

Please see diagram below which shows the wiring connection for the beam and module.

Does a ZAIO-MI relay trigger during an alarm verifcation on an ID2 system?

The relay on a ZAIO-MI does not change state when a device with verification activates.
