The 540-0020 is an extension battery box for the CIE-A-200 or CIE-A-400 panel allowing a pair of 12ah batteries to be used where additional standby capacity is required.
This should be mounted below the main panel and use a conduit coupler to link the battery box wiring to the main panel back box.
