Disabled Refuge Systems
Disabled refuge systems provide 2-way communication to refuge areas (specific areas of building which are deemed relatively safe). Current regulations stipulate all new non-residential buildings consisting of more than one floor must provide refuge areas where those who are not easily able to escape in the event of an emergency can call and wait for assistance. Communications to these are areas is achieved with a disabled refuge system which facilities rescue services determining which areas require assistance and to reassure those that help is on the way.

Baldwin Boxall- Provides two-way, hands free, speech steered communication.
- Self-powered from ring circuit, no local power source is required. Automatic battery backup is provided by the control panel in the event of a mains power failure.

- Addressable unit.
- The enclosure contains a rugged red handset with hearing aid compatible earpiece and loudspeaker.
- Calls are initiated upon opening the door. When answered, the user can talk to the operator either by lifting the handset or hands-free. Closing the door ends the call.
- Conference call facility between multiple fire telephones is available via the operator at the control panel.
- All outstations are in a loop circuit from control panel(s).

- Volt free contact, active when occupied. To operate over-door lamps, silence speaker/sounder, etc.
- Stainless steel ‘press to call’ button.
- Calls can be reset either by of the key-switch on the remote unit or at the master control panel.
- Option to be permanently ‘active’ if required.
- Reset from either remote unit using the key switch or via the master control panel.
- All outstations are in a loop circuit from control panel(s).
- A link to the fire detection system prevents hoax disabled refuge calls. This feature can be completely, or partly, overridden.

C-Tec- A new 224 line Desk Controller for use with our SigTEL disabled refuge, fire telephone and stadium marshalling system
- Allows operators to communicate with up to 224 disabled refuge or fire telephone outstations
- Designed to simplify call-handling on larger EVC installations.
- Must be connected to an ECU-4, 8 or 16 master controller via an ECU-723 interface/network card
