We have just added a new range of mains powered, interlinkable domestic fire alarms to our website. Aico fire alarms all come with a 10 year battery back up and an optional wireless base is also available.
About Aico Series 160RC Fire Alarms
Aico Series 160RC Fire Alarms are powered by mains electricity but come with a built-in tamper proof lithium cells that act as a battery back-up n the event of power failure. The rechargeable cells have a life of ten years, designed to outlive the life of the alarms themselves, and can provide up to six months of alarm operation without mains power.
An Easi-fit base is provided with each of the alarms making installation, as well as removal and replacement, quick and painless. The Easi-fit base automatically connects both battery and mains power as the detector head slides on. An Easi-fit RadioLINK base can also be used to provide wireless connection between up to 20 alarms.
All of the Aico Series 160 RC Alarms can be interconnected and can be controlled remotely by either a ‘Test, Silence and Locate’ switch or by a manual call point.
What Types of Alarms are Available?
We currently have three alarms available from the Aico 160RC series, providing enough protection for all domestic areas:
- Aico Mains Power Ionisation Smoke Alarm (£34.20 +VAT): Ionisation smoke alarms are more responsive to flaming fires (papers, clothing) and are commonly used in bedrooms or similar areas. The ionisation smoke alarm will trigger when an adequate level of smoke enters the alarm.
- Aico Mains Power Optical Smoke Alarm (£39.40 +VAT): Optical smoke detectors are more responsive to smouldering files (sofas, TVs) and are most commonly used in hallways, landings and living rooms. The Aico optical smoke detector also includes an insect screen to reduce the risk of false alarms.
- Aico Mains Power Heat Alarm (£40.32 +VAT): Heat alarms respond to heat build-up from large flaming fires. The heat sensor triggers at 58° C and is commonly used in kitchens and garages where there is a higher risk of particles in the air from dust and cooking smoke.
All of Aico alarms can be controlled using the Aico Test, Locate and Silence Switch, increasing the flexibility and user friendliness of the alarms by allowing the user to remotely ‘Test’ the alarms in the system, ‘Locate’ the source of an alarm and ‘Silence’ any nuisance alarms.
The Aico RadioLINK base is also available at discountfiresupplies.co.uk. Compatible with all of the series 160RC alarms, the RadioLINK base allows you to facilitate a comprehensive fire alarm system without the need for cabling between alarms.
