Happy New Year!

With 2013 upon us we thought it was time to share our plans for the year ahead with you. Read on to find out which brands we’ll soon be stocking and our forecast of things to come in the fire industry this year.

Our Predictions For 2013

Technology is always advancing so it’s hard to say exactly what we’ll see from the fire industry over 2013 but we can see certain trends forming that we think will be big this year.

As manufacturing advances and technologies become more readily available we’re going to see costs being driven down. The result of this will be that low-end systems will generally become higher specification and better fire detection will be available to more people over 2013.

We also think we’re going to see many conventional fire alarm systems being replaced by 2-wire systems which often have more benefits for some applications. We’ll also see more addressable fire alarm systems being installed in general.

As for the look and feel of fire equipment we know from experience that there is much more demand for good-looking devices. This is gradually filtering down into the consciousness of manufacturers so we expect to see more products becoming available that use sleek design and higher-quality materials.

The reduction in technology costs as mentioned previously will also mean that we see more fire alarm panels having touch screen interfaces, something that the public now expects and is becoming the norm across all industries.
