The Apollo XP95 Intelligent Heater base is an advanced detector base that uniquely solves the problems presented by installing smoke or heat detectors in cold climates.
In cold conditions, it is not unusual for icing and condensation to form over detectors in fire alarm systems. These conditions can severely affect the internal workings of the detectors and inhibit their effective operation.
Condensation, for example, occurs when water vapour comes into contact with a cold surface. To help combat the formation of condensation and ice, Apollo have produced the Intelligent Heater Base - a detector base that raises the ambient temperature of a detector chamber by as much as 10°C, making it harder for ice and condensation to form.
This base fits all of the Apollo XP95 smoke, heat and multisensor detectors and is a fantastic choice if you want to limit the risks environmental conditions like icing and condensation present.
